As soon as you get your flower bouquet, we recommend trim the ends of the stems before placing them into water. To do this cut approx 1-2cm off the bottom of the stems on an angle to allow the stems to drink adequately. Make sure you use garden shears or sharp scissors, as a blunt edge can damage the stem’s cells and make it harder for the flowers to drink.
Once trimmed, the paper wrap should be removed to allow adequate air flow and for the flowers to be loosened into your selected vase. We recommend changing the water in your vase every few days to ensure it stays as clean as possible for the overall flower health, as bacteria can build up in your vase! As you enjoy your arrangement, remove any flowers or leaves that are starting to wilt. All leaves and flowers should stay out of the water in the vase. While changing the water, you should also remove any dead leaves and petals regularly, and any leaves below the water line to prevent the growth of bacteria.
